Organizational Culture Assessment

A practical assessment for boards and leadership teams.

Culture can be difficult to pin down. People may know that something is working well, or that something isn't, without being able to identify exactly why.

Culture also isn't just about whether people like working together. It affects how decisions get made, how people respond when they disagree, whether expectations are understood, and how effectively boards, leaders, and teams work together.

The Organizational Culture Assessment is a short self-assessment designed to help boards and leadership teams look more closely at how culture is functioning within their organization.

Rather than producing a score or rating your culture as “good” or “bad,” the assessment is intended to help identify where people are having different experiences or perceptions. Those differences can be an important starting point for understanding where communication, decision-making, expectations, or working relationships may need attention.

The assessment can be completed individually and then used to guide a conversation among board members, senior leaders, or both.

About the Framework

The Organizational Culture Assessment is based on The Culture Alignment Framework, developed by Alison Teitelbaum of AST Strategies, and reflects 20 years of experience working with boards and leadership teams navigating complexity, growth, and change.
